The morning of the tenth day of the cruise. We are going through the Volga-Baltic Channel. Four o'clock in the morning. I don't know yet whether we have passed the place Kurdyug or not?
Ahead on the bend of the river some barge has appeared.
Yes, it is the place Kurdyug. On the coast the collapsed structure is seen. This is the only one barrack left of the former detention camp area.
... and this is the remains of former pier.
But the dry tree with the eagle nest is not visible. The team members say that there was the tree last season.
We were sailing very slow and a few minutes later a couple of inhabited houses are appeared on the same shore. Apparently this is all that remains of the former Kurdyug settlement.
After another five minutes we have met the eagle. Apparently it is nesting somewhere close to the lost nest.
